Tank or tankless, honestly

Tankless gets recommended more often than it fits. It’s a good unit, but whether it’s right for you comes down to how your household actually uses hot water.

Where tankless wins

If demand is spread out — showers at different times, a smaller household, a house you’re staying in long term — tankless pays back. It heats on demand, so nothing sits losing heat overnight, and a maintained unit runs roughly twice as long as a tank.

Where a tank still makes sense

Three showers at once will outpace most single tankless units. Retrofitting often means upsizing the gas line or the electrical supply, which can cost more than the heater itself. If your tank is under ten years old and holding up, replacing it like for like is the honest answer.
